Historical Vintage Wedding

Christoph & I met by chance. Somehow, from two different countries, we found ourselves in the same city, at the same time. We were both in grad school in Pittsburgh, studying at Carnegie Mellon, but for a year we had not even crossed paths. At the start of our final year, we somehow found ourselves in the same class, and miraculously, assigned to the same team for a project. It was there, that our love story began.

We started dating during our final year in grad school, and after about six months, needed to decide what to do after Pittsburgh - if we should make a leap together. We realized that we felt was too special to walk away from, and decided to move to Chicago together, move in together, and start a life together. Less than a year in to our Chicago adventure, Christoph proposed on the evening of Valentine's Day.

Our wedding(s) were a whirlwind to plan - one a reception in Germany for his family and friends, and one a ceremony in Holland, MI for the US family and friends. Both were absolute dreams. I fell in love with many different dresses at Fantastic Finds, but I knew when I tried on 'the one'. My dad was there, and when he saw me in it, he started to cry. Their team of consultants, Kim and Donna, were simply the best, and some of the kindest and most supportive women out there - choosing a wedding dress is a big deal! There was so much planning that went into each event, last minute decisions, and inevitable last-minute stresses. Throughout it all, our vendors were spectacular. In the US, Gilmore Catering created the most delcious menu, and our photographer, Abbey Moore, captured the most incredible pictures. All I can say is, enjoy each moment of the actual day and the people who are there with you. Remember each and every smile, hug, and laugh, because it will be a wonderful start to a beautiful life together.
